How long before lexapro kicks in?

I am diagnosed with major depression ..Everything was going well and it just kicked in...I could actually feel it...nerves in my head like tey wereju going numb..really sucks ...anyway funny thing is lexapro worked great years ago when i went through this...hell worked as fast a the first week...i just wonder why its taking so log
