San Francisco State wants $1400.00 by March 18th for housing. Do a lot of people make this deadline?

I am a student who is not getting ANY grants because even though I have the grades, my EFC is way too high. So I am going to have to pay for everything. My family can not help me come up with $1400.00 at such short notice and I am worried about not getting housing. SFSU is 1 1/2 hours away and I am not willing to go back and forth on a daily basis. I have been accepted at other CSUs and UCs, but San Francisco's weather is about as close as I am going to get to the weather here at home. My question is, do a lot of people make this deadline? Will I not get housing if I don't make this deadline?
