Is it heresy to baptize your pets?

The neighbor's kids are at it again. Only instead of making hosts and giving to each other in a strange ceremony, I saw them baptizing their dogs and cat and the other neighbor kid bought his hamsters. I think they are Catholic. This seems close to heresy or something blasphemous. Should I tell the parents what their children are up to? Should I get involved?
