Shaolin- karate training?

hey i was thinking of trying to become a martial arts expert, I dont want to become a monk b/c im a religious chrisian but i do want to learn high cl martial arts, hopefully shaolin but if not maybe something just as good.should I move to china for bettter training seeing they might have better masters, also how do i sign up, i know that if u want to be a monk you have to be buddhist and u sign up at some place and they take your stuff away. One more thing, I want to lead a life were i can exercise this(of course) but i dont want it to be my entire life, i have other goals 2. I was wondering if anyone could recommend some useful advice, and plz dont be stupid?
